delerium and dreaming days :: f.belcourt


Fabien Belcourt uses his photography as a means of self-expression to better understand his reality, expressing his interpretation of the world around him; allowing him to explore fragments of life in its most honest form - unstaged and genuine.

His photography leads him to explore angles, space, reflections, and light; to further his desire to capture his subjects, feeding off his intuition to portray stories that are not obvious at first - common yet uncommon. When shooting people, he likes to evoke the passage of time, the feelings that lay behind their eyes and body language, where they have been and where they hope to go.

What he sees all around him are characters, moments, details. Some of the moments he sees stay with him, refusing to leave, begging to be stolen and shaped and brought to life.

Fabien is 23 years old, a dreamer first, a drifter second, lives in East Van (most of the time), but is native to the Northern Gulf Islands of British Columbia. He has a fondness for feathers, friends, fancy hats, faded things, fire, felines, delerium, dreaming days, familiar land & caring ways.

Pardon Me

This blog has been pretty defunct for a number of months now… I left Vancouver in February and now live on a tiny wee island with only a 1000 people. I hope to get some new work out to the Tumblr world soon. Peace and love.
